In this edition of Friday Focus, Dr. O El-Hillal from E&S Orthodontics, your Phoenix Orthodontist, compares the Smile Direct Club and Invisalign®.
Hey, my name is Dr. O and today I’m going to talk to you about the difference between Smile Direct Club and Invisalign®. They’re both clear aligner systems which move teeth, but one of the main differences is that with the Smile Direct Club, you do not have the supervision of a doctor. Smile Direct Club allows consumers the ability to create their orthodontic tooth movement.
Invisalign, on the other hand, is a system that is controlled by a dentist or an orthodontist who has had specific training in orthodontic tooth movement. And so, the difference between the two – really – is the fact that one is supervised and one is unsupervised. Both Invisalign and the Smile Direct Club offer clear removable aligners. However, you are going to have to decide whether you are willing to make permanent tooth movement without the supervision of a trained doctor, which is not something I recommend.
If you have any further questions regarding Invisalign vs. The Smile Club, please feel free to contact our office.
